Domain Gallery is pleased to present Versions Freestyle, a solo exhibition by american artist Mike Ruiz curated by Manuel Fernández.
Mike Ruiz is interested in automated improvisation. He design situations in which an artwork can take place. Often times, what he is asking from the technology he use is something it is not intended to do. So there is a collaborative process between the automated tools he employ and himself. He is interested in co-authoring works – arriving at traditional media such as drawing, painting, prints and sculpture – with various consumer forms of artificial intelligence.
Versions Freestyle is a reimagining of Versions by Oliver Laric. He wanted to quite literally create a remix of Versions. Here his improvised vocals illustrate one interpretation of the work.
This is the second Versions Freestyle.
lives and works in Berlin.
